Torsion of the lung lobe?
We came back from seeing the specialist and the ct scan seems to show a torsion of the lung lobe in Oscar. If the radiologist agrees with the vet then we will finally know what is causing Oscar's problems. I guess it is better than cancer, but he will need surgery to remove that lobe.
Do any of you have experience or advice regarding this condition? The vet said that pugs often have this.
Thanks,
Laurel

No personal experience with any of my guys, but I have memory of someone's pug having it. Apparently they did very well after surgery. Hope Oscar is the same!

Like Rona, I have a vague memory of someone who dealt with it. Oscar will be in my thoughts and prayers.

YES! My coworker's beloved pug, Feldman, had lung torsion at age 8. It took a long time to get a diagnosis -- the doctors first thought pneumonia. It wasn't until the CT scan that they knew what they were dealing with.
He had the surgery, came through with flying colors, healed quickly, and was back to his old self within a couple weeks. It's a year later now, and he's still doing great. No complications or ongoing problems related to it at all.
Here's the old thread from Feldman's surgery: http://www.pugauthority.com/t7201-anyone-experienced-with-lung-torsion.
