Dumpling has winky eye ciprodex ok?
Came home form work today and Dumpling has winky-eye, one eye slightly closed and a bit runny. Hubs and the kids didn't notice it, but I did the moment I walked in the door. It is not swollen. It is too late for the DR. I have some ciprodex eye drops. Should I put some in her eye until I can get her into the doc? I know pug eye issues can progress quickly.

Poor little girl! Honestly, I'd hit the emergency vet. I'm not familiar with Ciprodex, but a quick Google search shows that it's typically given for ear infections, and I think that dexamethasone is contraindicated in eye ulcers. Good luck!

Yep--if it ends in Dex, it like has a steroid in it and should NOT be used unless the vet has said it's okay. You can really turn the eye into a mess with the wrong eye meds.
ETA: I looked it up. It does have the corticosteroid in it and is primarily for the use of ear infections. I wouldn't put it in her eye without clear instructions from the vet.....

Agreeing with the others, I would not put anything in her eyes until you see the vet, ESPECIALLY if it has a steroid like dex.
I'd suggest ER vet or calling your vet immediately in the am.

The ciprodex was an eye preperation which is why I thought it migh work. I didn't use the drops. She is fine today, woke up with no issues or discharge. I am still keeping an eye on it. Thank you for the replies!!

If a pug has a winky eye and you absolutely cannot get to the vet then you can use a plain lubricant gel until you can get to the vet. This will help a bit. With eye problems the vet must check whether or not there is an ulcer because as has been said already, if there is you absolutely must NOT use anything with a steroid in it.
You can ask the vet if they will prescribe you some antibiotic cream to have on hand that is safe for any eye condition; ours is called Fucithalmic.
