Mom's pug going deaf? Empty Mom's pug going deaf?

Post  Newsie96 8/30/2012, 10:28 am

My mom's pug, Manny, recently had an ear infection that took two rounds of meds to clear up and now my mom's discovered his hearing is compromised. I went back to the vet with her yesterday and he suggested she wait a few days to see of the meds (squirted in his ears) cleared out.

Right now if they say his name, my ougs' names or even ring the doorbell, he doesn't react. You really have to shout at him. MANNY, WANNA GO BYE BYE IN THE CAR??? Anyone have experience with this? He just turned 7.

I have heard that sometimes the meds cause temporary reactions like this.

was he on otomax?

otomax has an ingredient that can cause deafness.

Junior lost his hearing twice and got it back

Same thing happened to Tilly and she was ok after we took her off of it and a few days passed.
