05 Year old pug not eating from last 3 days

Oscar- a 05 year old pug is not eating from last 3 days.
We were treating him from last one month, Dr seems not able to diagnose his actual problem.We have been changing doctors also ,he was eating normally but started losing weight, and from last 3 days he has stopped eating at all. I am trying to make him feed forcefully, by giving electrol and liquid baby food. It has become very week and cannot stand or walk now.Yesterday ine Dr tried to give him glucose by drip and some antibiotic which he rejected and was almost dead, That dr even declared him dead!!!!!!!!! but by God grace and with the help of my mother;s prayer he got his life back after 5 minutes of struggle. Not able to understand what to do, now scared of Drs too.........but his condition is same , I have to take him again to a new Dr .
Has any body come across this situation please advise me.

Have they checked for inflammatory bowel disease? I lost a 7 year old pug to that. We had put in a feeding tube the night before she died, but she ended up aspirating and going into cardiac arrest. She didn't make it.

I am so sorry your little pug is going through this, there could be so many causes. Has he been urinating and pooping? Has he vomited? What is his temperature? He does need to be on on IV fluids. Has blood been taken and a full panel done? Fecal and urine samples also checked? I hope a new vet can get to the bottom of this and whatever is wrong can be successfully treated. I know Jaipur and I know good veterinary care is fairly rare. Very good thoughts. Please update us.

Hi Rebecca, it seems a little better today as he ate one bread piece with little milk.
Last Dr did the same thing which you have mentioned to force feed it and tied him to block movements.It is very sensitive and he rejected immediatly.He lost his pulse and that dr even declared him dead. but we were lucky enough to have him back due to my mother's prayer. She shook his body regressively for 5 minutes and little Oscar came back to life.But still its health struggle is going on.lets see......but one thing for sure that you cannot force him to anything, it need lot of care, affection and love.

Bread and milk are NOT recommended to feed to a healthy dog, let alone one that is obviously having serious issues! I would cease with that immediately and maybe some steamed minced chicken breast with a little over-cooked rice for a couple of days, slowly re-introducing good quality kibble. Maybe a spoonful of FAT-FREE, UNFLAVOURED, yogurt when he's feeling better might help. Dogs cannot tolerate milk-fats well and it will give them diarrhea, while bread is another thing they cannot digest easily. What sort of diet has he been on previously? It might hold some answers to his current issues. I really hope he continues to improve! You'll get a ton of great advice here! One last thought, has pancreatitis been ruled out?
