canned pumpkin for dogs? Empty canned pumpkin for dogs?

Post  sallyandtilly 9/28/2013, 9:38 am

I noticed lately that Kuner's pumpkin is pretty runny, like they are watering it down.  Made Tilly "too loose".  I was at the healthfood store and discovered that they actually have canned pumpkin for pets.  It is organic, smells good and is nice and thick like it should be.   It's $1.99 a can, but I think I pay about that for the Kuner's stuff.  Thinking of going to pick up a case of it before they discontinue it.  Everything I like gets discontinued.  lol

it sounds like a corrupt batch...

I happen to get "Food Club" brand - for 1.99-2.19 a can...  It's firm.

Of c, I am working on a case that's a few months old. But luckily the holidays are coming (when it becomes more plentiful, visible, and sometimes less expensive in the stores).

Let us know how the pet pumpkin works.

I've used it, and it works just as well as the people pumpkin.  Whole Paycheck has organic pumpkin, organic butternut squash, and organic sweet potato.  Something else I have done is bake a sweet potato and mash it up - Penny licked every molecule out of her bowl; haven't tried it yet with Lucy.

I usually buy the libby's brand of pure pumpkin. It is a firm consistency. I would love to find canned sweet potato or squash!

Always used Libby's, never runny for us. I haven't given pumpkin in a long time, as Marlee is blessed with non-leaky glands. Yay!

I too always bought the Libby's brand of canned pumpkin.  I thought it was the best.
