Constipation
I've noticed Sassy is having problems with her stool, she strains and struggles to produce anything & it mixes with the leaves so I can't see it. She's the dog who seldom eats and she also drinks very little. She is difficult to deal with for various things and her sharp little teeth come out. When I had old Buffy Pug who was always constipated, even with pumpkin, I could use a match inserted into her rectum and this worked well for several years. If I had to do that to Sassy, I would be minus at least three fingers and perhaps a hand! I Googled it and see they mention Laxatone which I've used on dogs in the past but most places don't recommend mineral oil. She's so picky, I don't know how I'll get the pumpkin down her, no way could we force it down her. She finally ate tonight but I could hear her poor tummy grumbling this morning when she was on my lap. It was in concert with mine. I see experts also recommend more fiber but here again, with her fussiness, I have no idea how to get it down her. I just hope she likes the Laxatone which I'll buy tomorrow. Any other suggestions? Between her pickiness and Ivy's dog aggression, this is all new to me. My other dogs in my life for 80 years have been friendly and always hungry. Thanks for any help.

Re: Constipation
The only suggestion I have is fish oil although you may have already tried. Even my little picky boy loves the Yummy Chummy Salmon oil. It does make them smell like a fish too.

Re: Constipation
Good luck with this issue. I can't imagine our Pugs being picky eaters, if anything they lean towards the other extreme. Anything that fits in their mouths is tried.

constipation
I was actually able to see her have a BM today (she is shy about going in front of anyone) and saw she was able to pass it easily and it was normal, whew. She ate well last night for a change and was primed to go *G*. Breakfast today saw her cute little nose go up in the air as she completely ignored it. I'm getting some cat's hairball stuff this morning in the hopes that will work, I have to be careful as she's so bitey and unruly when I want her to do something. She's about 7 now and has been in five different homes so far. Even putting Frontline on her skinny little shoulders drives her crazy. I guess she's a free spirit.

Re: Constipation
Sounds like things are working out-literally.
No good advice, so far this hasn't been an issue for mine. I can sympathize on dealing with a pug that isn't too keen on being "messed" with. Time is about all that I've found that helps with that.
