Another seizure
Knuckles had another seizure, 2:30 am, not a great way to be woken up, this time he lost control over his bladder.
It last 1 min 40 seconds, it seems like an eternity.
So far we are about one seizure every 30 days or so.
We are going to try rescue remedy to see if it helps with the way he comes out of the seizures, it takes a good 30 minutes for him to relax and wind down after one.

Re: Another seizure
I'm so sorry Erin. Poor Knuckles. When I was at BF last time, they had a product that was similar to Rescue Remedy that they said they found to work better with some of their dogs (they had one who had severe anxiety during storms). I have the name written down at home, I will try to look it up.
Re: Another seizure
It wasn't a good morning, Stu did not realize he was kneeling in the pee, he had to have a shower and Knuckles a bath.
You feel helpless, all we do is watch, time and record. The pugs know something is going on, they seem to keep a good distance
Thanks Saira
That would be a help, George still has his separation issues, we went almost 3 months of dry days with the bellyband and now back to 1 dry day out of 25

Re: Another seizure
So sorry Erin. I hope they don't increase in frequency or intensity. Having had an epileptic dog, I know how scary they are.

Re: Another seizure
So sorry to hear about Knuckles seizure. One every 30 days is really not so bad - Zoe usually has at least one per week. Have you tried giving him a teaspoon or two of plain, vanilla ice cream post-seizure? You can put the Rescue Remedy right on it (see link below). Zoe has come to expect her post-seizure ice cream.

Erin, I can't remember but have you had him tested for thyroid deficiency?

Re: Another seizure
Hi Hilary
They ran full panels, nothing abnormal, except tonight we came home to mass amounts of vomit and he is almost frantic wanting to drink.

Re: Another seizure
I hope they can get a diagnosis quickly. I do not like the sound of the new symptoms and hope they are totally unconnected to the seizures. Sending get well vibes.

Re: Another seizure
I wish I had some suggestions, but all I can do is hope they find out what is causing the seizures as well as the thirst.
