Cleaning Folds???
What do you guys use to clean your pug's folds? I was using these medicated pads I got from an online pharmacy but I ran out and somehow didn't save the container. It had orange writing on it and they looked like acne pads for people. Does anyone know what they were or alternatively, what do you use that works well (and isn't too pricey)? Extra credit for a link or pic.
Thanks in advance.

I use baby wipes. Always works well for us. Or Witch Hazel on a qtip works well too.

Yes, witch hazel is relatively safe. Don't want it in their eyes, of course, or on open wounds as it stings. I use it as part of my ear cleaning solution.
I use a damp baby washcloth unless there is an infection and then use the malaceptic wipes.

The orange container your mentioned might be Douxo Chlorhexidine 3% PS Pads. I have gotten them from Amazon.

Another fan of baby wipes here. I get fragrance-free/unscented.

Re: Cleaning Folds???
I have a gift certificate for $20 at Petco.com. Has anyone used the Nature's Miracle ones or think these would be okay? I like the company's other products but worry about the fragrance on these. Any thoughts?
Updated to add: I bought these instead:
https://secure.petco.com/Shop/Product.aspx?SKU=1153013 . They were unscented. I figured they'll work great. I only had to pay for shipping and tax. Now nobody tell Chamuco they're coming. He'll run under the bed and hide.

Same here. I used to buy expensive dogs wipes but found baby wipes work just as well.

I use a home made ear-cleaning lotion as a nose roll/wrinkle cleaner too. Just dampen a cloth or face-washer with the lotion and swipe the nose roll and any overly heavy wrinkles with it. The lotion is an astringent anti-fungal and mild antiseptic.

I would be surprised if others here didn't use it too. I have been using it for years since I saw it posted on PV (by Hilary was it?) in the good old days. I love it and it even cured my youngest son's athelete's foot after all the prescribed and OTC medications failed!Donna wrote:Puggered wrote:I use a home made ear-cleaning lotion as a nose roll/wrinkle cleaner too. can you post the ingredients?
1/3rd cup rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alchohol)
1/3 cup white vinegar
1/3rd cup Witch Hazel (health food stores)
about 10 drops of Tea Tree Oil
Mix together and store in a plastic squeeze bottle at room temperature. For ear cleaning, a gentle squirt in each ear and massage. Nose roll and wrinkle cleaning wipe with a cloth dampened in it. Also effective for potential hot spots, cuts and grazes etc.
The latest use I have found is as a deterrent to puppy thieves - I mean puppies that steal not puppy stealers (although I suppose you could use it like capsicum spray or something.... )

Love that recipe! Nice that it cured athletes foot too when nothing else would. That definitely speaks to it's effectiveness!
