Wheelchair Recommendations
Hi everyone. I suspect few of you know me because I rarely stop by anymore and never post just because I never have time to get on here but I am looking for some advice. My senior pug Herbie is at the point now where I think he'd benefit from a wheelchair. He can not walk well at all anymore and topples over due to his back end and with the weather about to get warmer, I really think he'd love to have a wheelchair and to be able to enjoy a bit of walking around. I don't know where to start in the wheelchair department and when I googled it I got a ton of responses. Anyone have experience with ordering one and if so, who did you use? I want it to fit him but I also like the idea of getting one that is adjustable so that it can be used for many years and other pugs - although I hope Herbie is around to use it for a long time too!
Herbie is probably about 14 now but other than his mobility issues, he's in good health. I'm not exactly sure of his age. He was a stray and has been with me almost 6 years and the shelther who turned him over to NIPRA thought he was about 10 yrs old then. I think he was younger but now he's quite the (cute) senior guy.
Thanks in advance for any advice you have to offer!

I have heard good things about Eddie's Wheels and K9 Carts. I think those are the names of the companies.

I can recommend Eddie's Wheels. It's what my canine physiotherapist uses always and she raves about the chairs and the customer service with Eddie's Wheels.

I don't know why I posted my comment in your quote. Geez. I am old. I have heard good things about Eddie's Wheels, and I think it is k9 Carts.

I bought Kayla's cart from Dogonwheels. They had great customer service, prices were very reasonable (competitive with the other companies) and I believe her cart was adjustable to an extent.
I've heard plenty of really good things about Eddie's Wheels also.

Re: Wheelchair Recommendations
The absolute MOST important thing about a wheelie for a dog is to get it professionally fitted. A badly fitting cart can do significant internal damage.

I am terrible with measuring anything!! I would never trust my measurements.northernwitch wrote:The absolute MOST important thing about a wheelie for a dog is to get it professionally fitted. A badly fitting cart can do significant internal damage.
