pimples
My pug has numerous small pimples on his mouth that recently showed up. Someone told me to use pimple cream or ointment.....but he just licks it off. Any suggestions?

Re: pimples
It's pretty common in pugs, especially in adolescent pugs. The best way to avoid it is to use food and water dishes that allow you to keep them scrupulously clean. Stainless steel and Pyrex seem to work best. Then wash them after each use (or daily for a water dish.) Plastic dishes can harbor bacteria that cause pimples.
Usually they'll clear up on their own, but occasionally if they're really bad, they may need anantibiotic, which wojuld mean a trip to the vet. Good luck!

What Ginger said about the dishes.
Don't put any cream on them - as you said, he'll only lick it off.
Boil water, add salt, let it cool. After each meal dampen some kitchen paper with the salted water and wipe his muzzle.
Do NOT try to pop pug spots. Keep an eye on them. If they get much bigger, multiply profusely, start weeping or bleeding or if he scratches at them then take him to the vet.
