Eye Drops Empty Eye Drops

Post  Mel 6/6/2013, 2:49 pm

So bout 3 months ago Zoe went in for her annual check up with the eye specialist.  They said the pressure behind her eyes was getting higher so they put her on a 2nd set of eye drops.  Thankfully, those didn't need to be refrigerated like the others she's been on for a few years now.

This morning we had a 3 month recheck and they said the pressure was better in one eye but worse in the other and proceeded to put her on a 3rd set of eye drops.  These need refrigeration and that's now 3 sets twice a day!  Thankfully Zoe's super good for them, but my wallet isn't too happy!

Honestly, sometimes it feels like you're at the mechanics.  Does anyone ever question their vet?  I texted my general vet and he gave me another specialist to see.  I may get a 2nd opinion.

Nothing wrong with a second opinion. I love, love, love my vet, but every time I've had a major decision to make, I have always gotten a second opinion. And, she encourages it!

I would wonder about that many drops too.

Get the second opinion. I think you'll be glad to have the information.

Is this her regular vet, or has she seen an ophthalmologist? I'd do that as a second opinion.
