My cousin got a pug a few months ago. She was underweight but seemed to be ok. They are working on putting some weight on her. I got a message from my cousins wife that Phoebe has blood and mucous in her stool. This is the first time they've noticed it. Is this a wait and see or trip to the vet right away?

Personally, I'd be to the vet right away. LuLu had that bloody/mucousy stool and the ER vet diagnosed HGE-not saying this is what it is, but waiting would not have been good in LuLu's case, and I'm a "better safe than sorry" sort of person...

I hope little Phoebe is ok!

Trip to the vet.

My Ichiro came from a puppy mill like that. He was pretty sick right when we got him.

The one time Bella had that we ended up in the ER with her too. I told her to get her to the vet but wanted to check. She's got a toddler and is trying to find someone to watch him so she can take her. Thanks folks!

Could also be some sort of parasitic infection. Take a poop sample and take it to the vet (preferably within an hour of the poop or you can keep it refrigerated for a while).

Jewel had that... ruled out parasites, treated for colitis, turned out to be severe IBD and didn't survive it. They need to go to the vet.
