My pug who is 7 years old lost an eye over a year ago due to pressure from a collar. He has adopted to this and is doing fine, except he now has some swelling in the socket. It has drained a little, and the swolling has gone down considerably, however I am interested if anyone has any ideas or home remedies to reduce the swelling.

I would take my pug to the vet to get it checked out. The draining and swelling does not sound right, especially a year post-op. My hospice pug lost an eye in March due to a rupture.

I agree with Rebecca - a trip to the vet is in order. Our rescue had a pug who had to have an eye removed not too long ago and a few weeks later, started to have problems with swelling/pressure. They had to open it back up to remove some infected tissue.

Yep, TOTALLY agree with the others in taking him to a vet! That doesn't sound good and what you may be trying to save right now could end up costing you a lot more if the infection gets into his system. Make an appointment straight away. No home remedy is going to help when an infection has set in, you're just setting yourself up for worse problems. Hope all is okay!
