Re: 1 year old female pug mimi
You can definitely bathe her often. My vet recommends at least twice per week when allergy symptoms flare up. I'd try a limited ingredient diet. Not sure if you have Natural Balance there but they make several varieties. My girl is on duck and potato. You need to make sure you feed ONLY the food and treats that go with it, nothing else. It can take 6-8 weeks to notice a difference. If one variety doesn't help, switch to a different variety. Also you can use Benedryl. I'd try 1/2 of the 25 mg pink pill every 8 hours.
It sounds like your girl has more yeasty symptoms than just allergy so I would definitely make a trip to the vet. There are a lot of prescription meds, shampoos, and rinses that can really help out. Also, I highly recommend getting your girl spayed as soon as possible. That can decrease the chances that she will develop health conditions in the future and you definitely wouldn't want to breed her with her issues.
Good luck and keep us posted on how it goes.

I agree with all of Lisa's advice. The other thing I suggest is that if you have already been the the vet, to try and find a doggy dermatologist. We went to one and it made a huge difference. Even with a great vet, the specialists are the most up to date on the lastest meds, etc. Definitely get it checked out-if it's yeast, it kind of has a "wet laundry" type of smell.LisaIzzyAggy wrote:You can definitely bathe her often.
