Coconut oil success
I've been giving Tilly fish oil for her coat because it seemed a little dry and not really healthy looking. The fish oil did absolutely nothing for her. I
could tell no difference after using the whole bottle. I am now giving her coconut oil and after 10 days her coat is soft and silky. Amazing. If anyone wants to try it, the coconut oil is on the baking aisle and you give 1 teaspoon per 10 pounds.
You guys who use the coconut oil, how do you give it? When it was hot the oil was liquid and I just squirted some out of a bottle. Now that it is cooler, it has solidified. I guess I'll have to put it in a different container and scoop it out?

Re: Coconut oil success
Mine comes in a tub, rather than a bottle, so I've always just scooped it out and put it right on their food in a little glob. I'm glad you've seen such good results with it!

I do the same. They love it though and will lick it off a spoon too!

Haven't tried this, might have to give it a go!

I'm adding it to Penny's diet - I get the solid at Whole Paycheck and just put a glob on her food. She will fight me to lick the spoon, too.

It made Izzie smell like a tropical island so it's a no go for us which wouldn't be bad except i hate heavy coconut smells. She gets her oils far better from cold water fish oil and primrose oil.

The one I bought doesn't smell like coconut at all and I even tasted it. It's almost tasteless.

It was coming from her skin, stronger coconut smell than the actual oil. The stuff i have i use on my tattoo actually, very moisturizing and smells sweet but not terribly coconutty.

In cooler weather when it's solid, I just scoop and dump it on top of Marlee's food -- she ALWAYS eats the coconut oil first, then the rest of her meal. Loves the stuff.
It's never made Marlee smell coconutty at all. I would definitely notice, since coconut isn't a fragrance I'm terribly fond of.

Same here. Hate the smell too and it didn't affect mine.

I am having great results with the coconut too. I just plop a glob on their food. I think my girls smell much better than they did when they were eating fish oil. Slightly tropical I think.
