Ivermectin Empty Ivermectin

Does anyone use the ivermectin for heartworm prevention instead of Interceptor or Heartguard? It's not something I would normally consider but I have 1/2 a bottle of ivermectin sitting here from when Matilda had demodex. And frankly, I could use the $$ savings for a couple of months while we're doing Chloe's chemo (and that doesn't mean I can't afford my dogs Razz lol)
