Pug Talk-Hazel Empty Pug Talk-Hazel

Post  papaspugs 4/9/2012, 10:02 pm

I just got my issue of Pug Talk which is the Senior and Rescue issue. Imagine my surprise when on Pg 1, there is a picture of none other than Blanche's Hazel with a lead to her story on Pg 14. It seems surreal to be looking at pictures of Hazel and hearing her story when I feel like I know her myself. The pictures of Hazel don't do her sweet face justice, although I do wish that you'd sent in the photo of where you taped eyes to her face.

It is also so heart warming to hear other rescue's stories of tragedy to success!

Unless I've been under a rock and missed something, Blanche kept that quiet! They couldn't have picked a better pair for a rescue story. Would love to see it!

that's awesome!! I gave up on Pug Talk since it's so breeder friendly, and normally not rescue friendly - unless that's changed.

I gave up on it too but I really want to see this issue! Was there an article in there on the hoarding case that NIPRA was involved in last year? I think that the board member/foster mom who handled most of that was going to submit something.

Okay--here's why I never said anything about it. I was asked by our President to write something for Pug Talk (a magazine I've never even seen much less read) and I decided to do Hazel. This was months ago. I emailed it in and never heard back a single word so I just assumed we didn't make the cut.

If anyone can scan it and post it I'd love to see it. I can't even remember what I said in it.....

Jana--I SO wanted to send the fake eyes picture, but decided in a rare moment of sanity that many folks wouldn't see the humour....

Hazel would like to thank all the little people who made her staggering
celebrity possible. She'd thank you all individually, but her celebrity
schedule is much too busy and she's scheduled for a short stay at Betty
Ford for a persistent treat addiction........

NIPRA had a 2 page spread with their story and 5 photos.

I'll try to scan it this week and see how I can get it posted.

How cool! Congrats to Hazel and Blanche and NIPRA! Hopefully this is a sign of a more pro-rescue lean for the magazine.
