Caution about some raw products
I don't know how extensive the beef recall is in the US, but it's massive up here--over 1800 products last time I checked. All from XL Foods in Alberta.
There also seems to be some concern that this tainted beef may have found it's way into the commercial raw food sold for dogs. I've emailed Carnivora, Tollden Farms and Pets4Life to ask about their beef products. So far, I've only heard back from Carnivora. Their meat is locally sourced and they have their own abattoire.
The concern for me is that much Ontario beef is sent to XL for processing so even though I know the origin of the beef, it's the processing that has been the issue.
My three raw fed dogs--Hazel, Tank and Meesh--have all had on again, off again diarrhea. I haven't been able to correlate it to anything much. BUT I do feed beef raw food on occasion and increasingly I'm beginning to think that the diarrhea I've seen in Hazel and Meesh especially may be related to tainted meat in the food.
I'm not 100% sure of this, but I wanted to put this out there as many of our dogs are raw fed. I don't have a clue if there are issues with things like Benny Bullies or kibble that contains beef.

You know, at first I also fed my pug with raw products, but then after reading some reviews I found out that it was wrong! Besides, out vet said raw meat is not a good choice fr a pug..Since then I don't give such foods to my pet

I beg to differ. Many Pugs, including ours, thrive on a raw diet.
