Calvin is our 16.5 year old (this is a guess, he was between 3-6 when we got him 12.5 years ago) beagle. He is in vey good health for a dog his age so his recent slow down was alarming.
He is having his check up tomorrow.

My question is this: with a dog this old, what are some questions I should be asking. I know it's normal for a dog his age to slow down, and not have as much energy, but other normal decreases, I don't see anything physical. Its more of his mental state that I'm concerned about.

Kim, I know I'm late posting, but just like humans we need to be aware of dementia.  Just tell the vet everything
that Calvin is doing that is worrisome to you,

Love you Calvin!

So it turns out Calvin has a little bit of a urinary tract infection. I actually saw our vet at the pug event today! She said it is very mild and we will start some antibiotics on Monday.

He really is healthy!

But Lennie had to go to the vet today and he has an ear/eye infection! Jeez, when it rains, it pours.
