Look at this little girl....

She is in a high kill shelter in Owensboro, KY. She will not be released until Monday the 9th to be adopted. She was picked up as a stray. They are very rescue friendly and said to call on Monday morning to make sure she will be available. I was told that they only keep dogs about 3 days before they are euthanized. I realy shouldn't take in another foster with Hank's surgery and Fran also needing surgery, but I also cannot leave this little peanut there to die. I have been trying to find someone in the area to help pull her and transport, but no one seems to know anyone near there. It's about a 4.5 hr drive from my house... I already warned my DH about another... he is not happy about it, but he too couldn't just leave her there. He keeps asking about that break he was supposed to get. Oh well, he will live. I have a friend who has volunteer to drive the entire way there to get her on Tuesday, so if I cannot find someone to help that is close, I think I will take my friend up on her offer. She is a "big wig" at our local utility company so she can take off anytime she wants. I am out of vacation, so if I go I will not get paid.

The shelter days the eye looked like it was surgically removed. She looks sad to me...


I just wish she didn't have to spend the weekend there.

I wish I knew I could get up there and back between taking the boys to school and Bob's appointment on Tuesday. Looking at the time estimates, they'd have to pass her through the window as I drove by.

Looks like I may be getting some help. KPR has responded and said that they have someone close who can pull her and they will take her. I gave them my info so if needed, my friend can still go Tuesday, but would rather her not have to have her make the 8+ hr drive if they can help!

I just don't want someone to drop the ball, so I am going to follow back up on Monday to make sure!

what a poor little girl! I am SO glad someone is taking her and saving her! Thank goodness for good people out there! I wish I could adopt her ! She is adorable and deserves lots of love!

She was adopted immediately when she was able to be!! It wasn't a rescue, but I just hope it's a good home and happy she is out of the shelter!

She's sweet, very thin. Praying no one drops the ball and she can get busted out of there.
