DFW Pug Rescue: Transport - UPDATE
Hi there - do we have any PA members (or know any pug/rescue folk) in the Dayton, OH area?
DFW has an alumnus pug up there that needs to be transported back to the DFW area. I'm thinking the transport legs will be something like this:
Dayton to Louisville, KY
Louisville to Nashville, TN (or midway points in/around Lville/Nville)
Nashville to midway point to Little Rock
mw Little rock to Little Rock or partway to DFW
Little Rock to midway to DFW
Let me know and I'll share the info with the rescue. THANKS!

Depending on when this is planned I could do Nashville to Marci and back. Do you have any idea when? I'm just about to get REALLY busy with weddings and what not.
Re: DFW Pug Rescue: Transport - UPDATE
Thanks Amber! I have no idea when...probably as soon as we can get all the legs lined up and figure out everyone's availability. It's a pretty long road trip...I can see it taking a couple of weeks given we are relying on volunteers, and everyone is so busy.

And if Amber can't help, I may be able to do Nashville to Marci depending on the day. And/or keep him or her overnight if you need to break the trip up into multiple days.

PS - they are hoping one of the volunteers who works for the airlines will be able to do the transport, but not sure yet. The road trip is a back up plan.
More to come...

Hi there Allie!
We live in Crossett, Arkansas, right on the Ark-Louisiana line... I would be happy to do a leg down this way... We are very close to the Monroe/Ruston area... We're about 3 hours from Shreveport...

Re: DFW Pug Rescue: Transport - UPDATE
If you are considering adding a pug to your home, please give serious
thought to getting a rescue. There are many good reasons to choose a
rescue over a new puppy. What you see is what you get. Puppies require
housebreaking, have unknown temperament, trainability, personality,
activity level. With an adult rescue, those questions are answered. You
can pick active or couch potato; goofy or brilliant; sweet or sassy.
The rescue and its foster homes can guide you to pick the right match.
Rescues are full of puppies who became the wrong match as they got
older. Puppy love is often no more than an attachment to a look or a
color. It is not much of a basis on which to make a decision that will
last the pugs life. While a puppy may have been the cutest of the
litter; he may grow up to be superactive (when what you wanted was a
couch buddy); she may be a couch princess (when what you wanted was a
tireless hiking companion); or she may want to be an only child (while
you are intending to have kids or more animals). Pet mis-matches are
one of the top reasons rescues get “give-up” phone calls. Good rescues
do extensive evaluating of both their pugs and their applicants to be
sure that both pug and family will be happy with each other. So now on
with the good part, on to the rescues!
