UK Pug Welfare Garden Party
Tomorrow is our Pug Welfare Garden Party.
It's our main fundraising event of the year, usually very well attended by lots of lovely people who have adopted rescue pugs from us. There will be lots of games, fancy dress, a demonstration by a pug agility team (!) and the parade of rescue pugs with a prize for the oldest. Always brings a lump to the throat, that.
Only trouble is, we're in the middle of a heatwave (well at least it's not raining) with temperatures in the 30s. So numbers may be down.
Anyway, this is just to say thank you to those who have sent stamps (they'll be handed over to Sue tomorrow) and/or donated items for us to raffle.
I'll try to post some pics next week if I can figure out how. I'll be helping on the tombola (a sort of variation on a raffle) all day but DH has been requested to take some pics.
Wish us luck, please, with raising more funds for rescue.

It sounds like a fun time I hope you have a great turn out!
Speaking of stamps,I thouth you weren't collecting them anymore? If it's back on,I'll start saving again and ask others to do so as well.
Thanks,
Trish

In my rapidly disintergrating memory banks, there seems to be faint images of another Pug welfare party that looked like HUGE fun. I need to update those images. Glad you're on the case Bella!
Have fun you guys!

Is that the one that Peg went to a few years back? Fingers and toes and paws crossed for a good turn out and a bunch of money raised. Can't wait to see the pictures!

What a great day. Huge fun, hard work, lots of lovely people (DH was asked to do a car count and there were 120 cars there with an average of probably 2 or 3 people to a car, loads of families and kids) and well in excess of 100 pugs. Will try to upload pics later today.
And - most importantly - I think we raised lots of money for Welfare!

Re: UK Pug Welfare Garden Party
I have decided that posting pics is beyond me. So I'm hoping Bella will post hers instead and let me off the hook!
Those of you who are on FB will see that I have managed to change my profile photo - it was taken today, of a very tired little pug sleeping off the effects of a thoroughly enjoyable party!
Stamps - yes please, Sue the stamp lady has been persuaded into continuing to collect them, which is great news. So please, keep saving them and keep them coming - we're so grateful to you.
We've very recently had the most tragic of rescue cases involving a very young pug, and the vet bills were apparently massive.
So every little really does help.

I will get the pics off my camera and onto the computer as soon as possible.
Janet - if you have any particularly good ones perhaps you could email them to me and I can post them on here for you. Mine are not all that good.
