Bug bites, what can I put on them?
Poor Chloe got all bit up today while in the yard, what is a safe over the counter product I can use to relieve her itching?

Donna, hydrocortisone cream can be used. I've used it on Grace plenty of times when her allergies flared up. Depending on where the bites are, you can always put a shirt on her if you need to in order to keep her from licking it off.

When Rhoda got bitten up on a camping trip (our first AND last, ugh!), I gave her Benadryl to relieve the itch at the recommendation of my vet. She was sleepy, but no longer itchy.

Thanks, I didn't have anything except Benedryl so I gave her a 1/4 of a tab to see if it would give her some relief, so far so good, but I think I am going to run to the store to get hydrocortisone or Calamine lotion then put a tee on her. The bites are all over her belly and butt, poor thing it's driving her nuts, I hate to see her like that.
Thanks for the quick replies. I really need to make up a doggie first aid kit.

Of course the second I got back from the store with a variety of anti itch products the Benedryl must have kicked in and she stopped itching and is now sound asleep!
