Meet Missy Lou
Isn't she the cutest little thing??
we picked her up from a shelter. she's 5, has a nasty flea allergy we're working on, and is FULL of personality.
she's now napping under my desk. we won't have her long!

She looks like a very happy little girl.
I hope you can get the flea allergy under control and she finds the perfect fur-ever home quickly!!

they think she stinks (she does...we will get her a bath later!). otherwise, they are ok. she's more suspicious of them than they are of her.
I made a mistake with the first introductions - no pugs were harmed! I tried it again by easing her into it with Dre first (who is non-reactive in any situation), let Missy settle in, and then introduced Jessie. that was fine..so then brought in my butthead boy.
Bello seems to settle in quickly with females, but is a jerk to the boys. So everything is fine right now. they are all napping here in the office.
Missy is hiding under my desk, but who can blame her? it's a safe place.

Oh, she is cute!
So Bello is a butthead with boys, huh? He and Hazel should team up and they can keep any dogs from coming in.

she was a whopping 13.5 lbs when she came in last week. not much more than that now. she's TINY. she could probably stand to gain another pound at most. very petite little frame.

Bello is a total butthead with the boys! I don't know why, but he likes his harem. He has postured over her, but like my girls, it just doesn't phase her at all. The last male temp foster I had, he would nip and nip and they argued. maybe that's part of it - the boys will nip/fight back as they establish their place in the pack. With the girls...they know Bello is bottom of the food chain despite his delusions.
The neighbor's BT is male too - and Bello fence fights with him any time they are both outside.
I gave her a quick medicated bath, and you would have thought she was in heaven the way she closed her eyes and relaxed. I'm sure it helped with her itchies. poor baby!

Yes but even another pug for a few days is work.
Re: Meet Missy Lou

I'm sure she'll find a home in no time.

How long has it been since you had a foster?
more than 2 years? I've never been a great foster home...
before Steve came along, I had my 4 to care for alone. That made fostering hard.
then when Steve came along, he's allergic, and didn't want to foster. I finally talked him into it for a little while. just short term though... he's not thrilled with the idea. combine that with Bello being a difficult dog, I preferred not to foster.
This time, we are just doing it short term, and I specified that we could only take females to keep Mr. Bello's harem going. and so far that's working just fine!!
Missy should be adopted pretty quickly. She's cute, charming and small.

Isn't it amazing how a seemingly healthy, happy good little dog like her winds up unclaimed in a shelter? I'm sure her stay with you is going to be VERY brief!

Re: Meet Missy Lou
Missy Lou was sent to remind me how wonderful fostering can be. She stayed glued to my side all evening while we relaxed last night, slept with my gang in their area fine all night, and wolfed down her breakfast.
She's perfectly house trained, though she doesn't have any obedience training at all.
Now I'm rejoicing in the fact that she's out from under my desk and sharing a bed with Dre. 24 hours of love can make a HUGE difference!!!
As for her health - the flea allergy has led to some awful dermatitis, and is pretty infected. she's on a 30 day round of antibiotics, plus 10 days of prednisone to help with the itchies. She's missing some patches of hair on her hind end and back legs.
Nothing the medicated baths + meds won't clear up. She's just the cutest and sweetest little thang!!!

What kind of medicated baths are you giving her? I have a foster who has pyroderma and needs one, don't know what to buy.
