Makayla - Update

Makayla had a check-up today with the orthopedic surgeon. He's happy with where she's at. She hasn't improved but also has deteriorated either. She's still weak and wobbly in the back end. But she doesn't seem to be in pain and isn't having the muscle spasms. So he feels as long as she stays status quo and isn't in pain and doesn't deteriorate, she will not need surgery. She goes back in 6 weeks for another check-up, but all seems to be going well.

That's good news, if not the best news. Gentle hugs to her from me.

I would say that not getting worse is a good thing. Give her a hug from me!

I am glad she isn't in pain and not having the spasms. Those seemed to bother her the most even if they weren't pain persay. I hope she improves, but if not, then just staying where she is, is good too!!! I can relate as I have a bad back too sister!

I'm glad things have stablised at a manageable level.

No, Leslye, no medicine on a daily basis. I can usually tell when she's having a bad day because she's crabbier than usual. And if Diesel steps anywhere within a two foot radius of her, she snaps at him - I think she gets nervous that he's going to get too close and accidentally hurt her. On those days, she gets her 25 mg of Deramaxx.

Status quo is a very acceptable status for us so we'll take it!

Stability is GREAT news! I'm so glad she is doing well.

Sometimes status quo is a good thing. Glad to hear shes doing well.

I learned with Sophie that no news is good news. Glad she is doing well!
