Einstein is having surgery Empty Einstein is having surgery

Einstein developed an ear hematoma over the weekend and will be having surgery this morning to fix it assuming his blood work comes back alright. He's 11 so I'm really nervous. We would really appreciate it if you'd send a few good thoughts his way today.

I'll say a prayer for Einstein. It's always scary when our babies have to have surgery. We had an older chow mix that had to have surgery for an ear hematoma years ago.

I spoke with the vet a little while ago. There were a lot of surgeries this morning so his was pushed back to this afternoon. I'm anxiously awaiting the "all went fine" call from them...

Just got back from dinner - the vet called while I was eating but I was watching the phone so I did get to talk to her. Stein is awake and doing well so that is great news. He has to stay overnight tonight (we knew that already) so I will give an update tomorrow night when I'm able to bring him home. Thank you so much for the good thoughts and prayers today!

Thanks Allie. It's really quite a bit more gruesome than I was prepared for. There's a large hole that isn't bandaged where they drained the ear. Poor poor Stein :(
