Sophie has stones
as in ROCKS! This morning she was acting funny and I got her to go on her potty pad, and there was a bit of blood in it. I was meeting Jennifer (jenandchewy) at the vet today so she could foster Tina, the pug who had pyometra. So I decided to take little miss bossy pants with me.
The vet felt something, so she wanted to take x rays because we were afraid it was bladder stones. So they did, and the vet said I had to see the x rays. It was ROCKS! She has managed to sneak in eating rocks somehow. I have no idea how since we always watch her, grr! Luckily, the vet said it looked like they were moving in the right direction so no surgery or obstruction. Seriously, these pugs..... Oh, and we are pretty sure she does have a uti, she is on antibiotics, and the results will come in tomorrow.

Re: Sophie has stones
Oh, my! I've caught Wally chewing rocks, but thankfully, as far as I know, he's never ingested them. (Emmet, on the other hand has the other stone variety--bladder stones...boo).
I'm glad to hear Miss Sophie doesn't need surgery. I knew she and Wally would get along! I hope they all come out easily!

Oh Sopphhieee , why must you worry your mother so?
Rocks are best left where you find them, not in thy tummy!!!
and probably a uti to boot :(, poor wittle muffin.
Thinking "passing" thoughts for the rocks, Saira and nerve settling thoughts for you to.

Sophie is a very bad, bad girl. Honestly, I thought "Oh God, poor Sophie and Saira having to go through bladder stone surgery". But rocks? Is she nuts? Off her rock-er? Stoned? (oh I am funny)

Boy there never is a dull moment with Sophie around. Hope everything passes safely, her UTI clears, and she quits eating rocks! Do they think we have nothing better to do than worry about them all the time?

Holy Cow, Sophie! I'm trying to figure out whether its good that she has rocks instead of stones. At least no surgery or drugs needed to poop out rocks. You think they will come out all shiny and smooth like the rocks you find in the ocean?
I hope our favorite little devil is okay, though. She's something special.

Re: Sophie has stones
After they pass you should have them set in jewelery and market them as rare pug-made stones. Hey, they came out of her, let them prove that she didn't make them herself!!!
I tell you, that girl is the poster pug for crazy black pug girls!

Pearl is VERY impressed and is on a rock-hunt as we speak. She thinks if they are good enough for Sophie.....

Re: Sophie has stones
This is NOT what I was expecting to hear at all! I read the Chat post about the possible UTI then read the title of this thread about stones. I had to read the thread twice to figure out the stones weren't in her bladder. What a little dork she is! I'd glad she went to the vet today.
I do like the idea of polished Pug Pearls. You might need to take pics of the "stoned poop".

I was so happy to finally get to meet little miss Sophie today (and Saira too). I can't believe she was eating rocks! What a little rascal she is, but so adorable.

Re: Sophie has stones
3 rocks have passed, 2 to go! Ken is on the poop patrol, I told him about Roxane's suggestion to save the stones to sell them. He was not amused.
She seems fine, but she seemed fine yesterday too. She's a strange one!

Lordy, Sophie! You are going to be the death of your mommy yet! Are you trying to show her you need more food??
I hope the rocks keep on truckin' thru her system!

Re: Sophie has stones
The vet called with the results, she had a raging UTI. I feel so bad we didn't notice it earlier but she wasn't showing any signs until yesterday! Poor baby. The antibiotics should clear it up and then we go in for a recheck. I told the vet the rocks were passing through and she said Sophie is a spitfire.
Re: Sophie has stones
I better not get one of those necklaces on my next birthday!
