Buffy Empty Buffy

Post  Miss Pugg 1/9/2011, 10:07 pm

My old grayfaced Buffy developed a fast growing large ugly growth on a back leg. I just found it last night. I hope to be able to see my vet tomorrow about it, can't wait until next week when the dogs have another visit. She also developed an ugly red warty looking thing right next to her nose. She's full of skin tags and little growths but these worry me. After her blood test 3 weeks ago, the vet said she might be getting cancer from the results of her kidney function but of course she couldn't tell then. She had no signs of it then but now the big ugly growth keeps staring me in the face. She's acting as normal and sweet and loving as usual, eating well and enjoying being on my lap - if I'll lift her up now.

Oh, poor Miss Buffy! I hope what ever it is, it's manageable and you still have plenty of time together.

The vet saw Buffy's growth today and due to her congestive heart failure and kidney problems and advanced age, for the time being is not going to remove it. If she bumps it and it bleeds, then I'm to take her back immediately. She did say that so many of the growths that look like that are usually benign. She also studied the red bump on the side of her nose & we are treating that too. Buffy has a history of lumps and bumps but one we looked for 3 weeks ago is gone. Poor old girl was so scared at the vet's when we first went in (she never goes there without her Pug/Boston posse). She lost .01 oz since Wed. and vet feels she needs to lose another pound or two. She's deaf, one eyed, lumpy, CHF and kidney problems and she's my little ray of sunshine. Thanks for all your good thoughts!!!! I doubt if we are out of the woods but at least it's not an emergency now.
