Interesting article, Mandy. We have a dog that was in foster care that has been adopted by his foster parents that I'm almost sure had a shock collar used on him. And former owner used Bark Busters--who often resort to somewhat harsh training methods, sadly.

I sent this on to his mom.

On another forum a girl used barkbusters for her fear aggressive dog despite being given advice to not use them and to use certain gentle techniques... They put a shock collar on him immediately and he got undoubtedly worse. Poor dog.

Yeah--I never read the comments since I know they'll make me crazy. Astonishing how people will continue to defend a training method that so clearly screams "WRONG".
