Green eye goo Empty Green eye goo

We've been struggling with Toddy's eyes for a couple of months now.

He will get green eye goo, usually in one eye and by the next day at the latest it appears in the other eye.

He's been on steroid and antibiotic eye drops. These clear the goo really fast, usually within 3 days, and the course lasts 7 to 10 days. 3 or 4 days after finishing the course, the cycle starts again.

I'm thinking it is probably to do with seasonal allergies as he's a bit honkier than usual, but the fact that the goo is green is what is bothering me.

We're just about to go on holiday, and of course the cycle has just started again. Sigh.

When we get back I think we'll be looking at a referral to the specialist in Newmarket but does anyone have any comments for me to mull over.

There's been no recent change in diet, or washing powder or anything we use in the house. It started in conjunction with some building work we were having done so I thought it might have been provoked by the brick dust, but that has been finished for several weeks now.

Good luck, it sounds like conjuctivitis to me, my humans kids used to get it when they were smaller around srpring time.

Poor guy. I think an eye specialist is a good plan. Sending pyrayers and positive vibes.

Have they done a Schimer's tear test?

Usually an opthamologist can recommend good over the counter eye solutions/drops/gel (whether that just be daily or anti histamine drops). I really agree a visit to a specialist is a good idea. They can even test to make sure he doesn't have any clogs in his tear ducts. Good luck with your boy. Eye stuff is never fun.

Yes, they have done the tear test twice and tear production is fine.

They've tested for clogged tear ducts (the UV dye test for scratches also does that) and one time they were clogged through a bit of swelling but the latest time they weren't.

Our regular vet is pretty good with pug eyes and as far as he can see there isn't any irritation from eyelashes or nose roll hair.

It's very frustrating.

Damn, Bella. I sympathize. Here it is often related to seasonal allergies. I've found that Reactine has worked for my guys and I've found an OTC eye drop for allergy eyes that has been working with Theo who has real redness and goop issues with his one remaining eye.
