Milwaukee Pugfest - May 15, 2011
Milwaukee Pugfest will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2011.
As we did this year, we will be holding events at the hotel on Saturday for all of the out of town rescues and guests. It's a great way to mingle with other rescues, get to know each other, win some stuff, have fun, spend money and help raise money for rescue!
I will be the point person with the rescue groups attending Milwaukee Pugfest 2011. And although it's 10 months away, I wanted to throw the date out now in hopes that we will get even more rescues who can attend next May.
Pugfest 2010 saw over 2200 humans and over 1100 pugs, pug mixes, frenchies and bostons.
After paying expenses, Milwaukee Pugfest was able to donate over $22,000 to various rescues to help pugs in need.
Saturday's events at the hotel had over 120 people attend and raised nearly $900 that was awarded to Kentuckiana Pug Rescue - for our first year of holding events on Saturday, we were very pleased with the results!
The invite to attend and have a booth at Milwaukee Pugfest is open to any organized, legitimate pug rescue group. Each rescue that participates and has a booth at the event receives a portion of the proceeds raised. You can also sell merchandise at your booth, have raffle baskets, whatever you want to help raise more money. It's a great opportunity to raise additional money for your rescue. There typically is not a booth fee for the rescues, but we do ask that each rescue have one or more volunteers help at the main event (aside from your own rescue's booth at the event) and we usually ask that each rescue donate an item for the silent auction.
Last year we had the following rescues attend the event:
Green Mountain Pug Rescue
Pug Rescue Network of Michigan
Midwest Pug Rescue - Minnesota Division
Homeward Bound Pug Rescue
DFW Pug Rescue
NIPRA
Pug Partners of Nebraska
Kentuckiana Pug Rescue
Midwest Pug Rescue
SEPRA
Alabama Pug Rescue
We would absolutely love to see all of these groups again in 2011 - and hopefully we can get even more rescues from around the country to attend in 2011.
If you have any questions or want more information, please feel free to PM or e-mail me.

Re: Milwaukee Pugfest - May 15, 2011
We are planning on coming up again Rachel. This time we also talked about coming up on Friday versus Saturday to make the trip a little easier.
Re: Milwaukee Pugfest - May 15, 2011
Deanna, that would be great - and yes, if you can squeeze in coming up a day early, it'd be better for you guys. It's so hard to travel and do an event right away - the traveling itself is tiring. Shoot, we live 2 hours away and came down on Friday for that very reason - to have a little relaxation time before the events got started.
We will be doing a different activity for Saturday next year. This year we did a scavenger hunt, which everyone seemed to enjoy, but we want to change it up - so we're working on some really fun ideas.

We've already got our calendars marked for next year. We had the best time ever doing Pugfest!! I'm already collecting stuff for the donation baskets. It was so nice to meet volunteers from the other Pug rescues. We thought you guys rocked Saturdays events!!
