Some good news for a change! Empty Some good news for a change!

We noticed that Grace has been walking funny for close to a month now and this weekend she really started struggling with getting up the step on the patio. She had LP surgery on her left knee two years ago this month. Her right knee has LP and it's only a matter of time before that one needs surgery as well. So of course my first thought was that her knee was luxating and wasn't popping back into place - which of course would mean we've come to surgery time.

I took her to the vet this afternoon and he said both of her knees feel stable. Her hips feel stable. No pain when he manipulated any of them. He did review his notes and said he noted he saw arthritis in the left knee when he did the surgery. He was feeling some "grinding" in there today and he's sure the arthritis has progressed.

So this was all good news - he thinks it's just arthritis in her knees that's bothering her right now. Arthritis we can deal with! I was just so worried it was a knee and she was going to need surgery again. Something I just don't know that my credit card or I am prepared to face right now!!

It's so rare these days that we go to the vet and get any good news.

Yay for arthritis--something I never thought I'd say.

I hear you on the Vet and lack of good news.

Hey, nothing wrong with being grateful for something manageable, rather than something that you are going to be stressed about.

A little good news can go a long way, glad it's nothing more serious.

I agree - manageable is good. Avoiding surgery is good. YAY!
